My Teaching Philosophy
Teaching is a calling for me. I have fond memories of enjoying to play "school" as a young child. My passion for learning in its entirety has remained constant despite changes in my job path. I aim to learn and teach in every part I play, regardless of whether I am formally playing the "teacher" or the "student."
My career path of choice is in education. I value the opportunity to advise, oversee, and educate the upcoming generation of thought and practice leaders in my faculty and professional responsibilities. One of the main reasons I teach is to give back to the industry I adore and support.
My approach to teaching is fundamentally based on ideas about how students learn and develop. I incorporate this attitude into my teaching in the same way that our field has placed a strong emphasis on educating the full learner. In every teaching activity, my major objective is to inspire the student to investigate the research and information in order to apply it to their own unique professional perspective. One must pay attention to both the technical knowledge a student demands and their development as a reflective professional and person when teaching in this discipline. There is no separating theory and practice.
I think it is critical to see the student-teacher relationship as something that is jointly formed in order to support this process.
